SVCC or Sitamma Vakitlo Sirimalle chettu

I recall reading some lines in Yandamuri. Real happyness is like godavari, slow but steady, calm and forever. Gratification due to some other material reasons are like a brook or creek, Like a surge but goes to zero pretty fast.

Some of my friends used to compare this with Ilayaraja mustic vs A.R.Rahman music. Many of the Ilayaraja songs are alive today across generations. But those instant successes from A.R were forgotten (though A.R gave wonderful melodies).

The movie, SVCC is quite similar to the above if we compare this with Dookudu or Pokiri. It is going to be an evergreen movie for Sankranti. There are no sumo blasts, or talks about vamsam (lineage) or skin show or songs shot in expensive sets or foreign locations, and no routing comedy.

It is a simple, middle class drama which we all have experienced at some part of our life. Be it as a son or brother or dad or wife, sister, mom.

Appreciation must go to the entire team but especially to the Director who made this happened. Great job.

Roku Player - No more FREE Indian Channels, No more FREE News Channels

Recently the Yupp TV & other free channels were found missing from ROKU channel store. Seems like ROKU is simply ignoring the content part. When they lost the Youtube access I thought that's the end of ROKU.

They survived almost an year thanks to the loyal customer base. But now I believe with Apple TV & Google Nexus coming soon in to the markets at similar price points, ROKU will be facing a tough battle. Unless they start doing some modifications to their content offering I see this is the end for ROKU.

Today most of the LED TV's are coming with smart tv capabilities and they do not need an external player to simply connect to youtube/streaming content. Roku need to do much more. be it entertainment or games or whatever. Prefer not to through this cute little box but I guess no choice if they don't improve their offering

RGV Naa Ishtam

I started the day with Ram Gopal Varma book Naa Ishtam. I'd say the book is quite similar to his movies (i.e. he thinks he is the 3rd smartest man on the planet. He said his two friends are the smartest) but being an admirer of his courage and honesty I liked the autobiography pretty much.

Below are the quotes which are at the beginning of the book. This will give you the idea on what is the theme, how the book is going to be and makes your expectations clear.

"నీ కోసం నువ్వు బ్రతుకు..ఎవర్నీ నీకోసం బతకమని అడక్కు".. Ayan Ryands
"నీ కళ్ళతో నువ్వు చూస్తున్నావు కాబట్టే ప్రపంచం అనేది ఒకటి వుందని నీకు తెలుస్తుంది. నువ్వు కళ్ళు మూసుకుంటే దానికి మనుగడే లేదు. అలా ప్రపంచం అన్నది నీ ఊహే కనకు నీ ఊహే ప్రంపంచం అనేది తెలుసుకో"... Arthur Schopenhauer

Its really a good reading after some gap. great work RGV.

P.S. If you want to borrow drop me a note..
